Description: Hours: Six hours laboratory per week Prerequisite: NRS 312, NRS 313 and NRS 306 Corequisite: NRS 414 Description: This course provides for an application of an integrative, family-centered approach to the care. Emphasis is placed on assessment of growth and development of the fetus and newborn, uncomplicated and high-risk pregnancies, family dynamics, and the promotion of healthy behaviors while considering social determinants of health, intersectionality, and principles of social justice. Clinical experiences provide the student an opportunity to apply theoretical concepts and implement safe patient centered care to childbearing families in simulated and selected patient care settings.
