Biography
Hello, my name is Melissa Stone. I am a full time lecturer and I have been teaching at CSUCI since 2007.
As a student, I initially began going to school to get my degree in sports medicine however after my internship, I decided to go back and attend nursing school. After 2 years in the field of nursing, I decided I wanted to make a career change. So I went back to school to become a teacher and earned my BA in Liberal Studies with a Teaching and Learning Emphasis. I then went on to earn my multiple subject teaching credential and my single subject teaching credential in science. In addition to my teaching credentials, I also earned my Master's Plus in Education and graduated second in my class.
I have 7 years experience teaching middle school math, science and PE and 2 years experience teaching 4-5th science and physical education. I have a passion for teaching, especially at the middle school and higher ed levels and I am especially excited to work with students that also want to enter the field of education.
