Education
Ph.D Nursing, University of California Los Angeles, 2015
Biography
Over the last six years, I have taught in the Nursing Department at CSU Channel Islands. Primarily, I teach Introduction to Professional Nursing Practice in the classroom, simulation lab, and clinical setting. Additionally, I teach Nursing Research. During my time at the University, I have had the pleasure of seeing numerous students pass my courses, graduate, and begin their nursing career. At CSU Channel Islands, I serve on committees at the Department and University levels, and anticipate starting my research trajectory on nursing education in the near future.
I am a graduate of UCLA where I received my PhD in Nursing. After earning an Associate Degree in Nursing at Dutchess Community College in New York, I knew I wanted to pursue higher education and received a Bachelor’s of Science Degree at State University of New York. My quest for Nursing Education continued while attending CSU Los Angeles where I graduated with a Master’s Degree in Nursing Education.
I have worked in clinical practice for the last 16 years. My specialty is in acute cardiac care where my greatest satisfaction has been seeing patients return to quality lives after making lifestyle behavioral changes and receiving medical interventions.
My drive for teaching, service, and research stems from my passion to ultimately impact and improve patient outcomes. Ultimately, my goal is to help facilitate learning among students so that eventually they too can become successful in the Nursing profession. Besides my professional life, I enjoy nature, sightseeing, and healthy living.
