Biography
Manuel Correia joined the faculty at CSUCI in the fall of 2005. Previously, he worked for San Francisco Unified School District, WestEd and the University of California, Santa Cruz.
His areas of expertise are primary language instruction, literacy instruction in sociocultural contexts, and second language acquisition as they relate to English learners in elementary educational settings.
Correia received a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture from the Graduate School of Education at the University of California, Berkeley. He holds a B.A. in English, and an M.A. in Education from California State University, Stanislaus.
