Matthew Furmanski joins CSU Channel Islands as Assistant Professor of Art. He received his B.F.A in Studio Art from Chapman University and his M.F.A. in Studio Art from the Claremont Graduate School. He has been actively exhibiting his artwork over the past ten years. He is a recipient of a Durfee ARC grant and has been published in numerous periodicals and catalogues including the Los Angeles Times and Art in America. Professor Furmanski has also collaborated with other artists and institutions including the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena and the Getty. Born and raised in Southern California, Professor Furmanski enjoys spending time surfing, sailing and traveling with his family.
