In 2007 Elnora Tayag joined the John Spoor Broome Library at CSU Channel Islands as an Instruction & Reference Librarian. Her teaching focuses on thinking critically about information in the digital age. Prior to CSUCI, she worked at academic libraries including both the Management and Research Libraries at UCLA, and Claremont’s Theological Library.

Before embarking on librarianship as a second career, Elnora taught English and History in East L.A. with the Los Angeles Unified School District for four years. She earned her B.A. in Art History with a Minor in Religious Studies from UC Irvine, her M.A. in Religion from Claremont School of Theology, and her M.L.I.S. from UCLA.

Elnora’s research interests include Filipino American history, benevolent societies, religion, and community memory. A native Angeleno, Elnora enjoys letters aka snail mail, shabu shabu and mixed tapes.
