
Daniel Wakelee is Associate Professor of Public Administration and teaches in the Political Science program at California State University Channel Islands. A native of California, Dan earned his undergraduate degree at Occidental College, his masters at California State University Northridge, and his doctorate at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Prior to joining CI, Dan helped to lead the CSU Northridge off-campus center in Ventura and later on the Channel Islands campus. Before working in higher education he served as director of FOOD Share, the regional food bank serving Ventura County. His experience also includes working in legislative offices and in electoral politics.
Although he serves as Assistant Provost, Dan regularly teaches courses including The National Park, and Education Politics and Policy. He has recently published articles on policy issues in national parks, administrative practices in higher education, and pedagogical approaches in public policy courses.
